We will be happy to give advice on training and make suggestions on which of the guide services in the area will employ you to gain experience before coming to work for us in the future.

For multipitch guiding we require that our guides have successfully completed the AMGA Rock Instructor Course. Even after the RIC our guides must have extensive training with the FMG senior guide and must apprentice (shadow, as well as be shadowed) under the FMG senior guide prior to guiding multipitch alone. Fox Mountain Guides strongly encourages, and supports our guides through apprenticeships and ongoing education and certification within the AMGA.

Internships

We have a seasonal Internship program with free AMGA training, help with WFR training and certification, accommodation available and pay well above normal internship rates. All this and the chance to work with the best guides in the region at the Southeast's largest climbing school! Click here for information on our internship programs.
