Partners and Sponsors Print E-mail

Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School selects sponsors and partnerships that match our company’s philosophies. We are sponsored by and promote companies that have the highest standards and are recognized as leaders in their field. We also in turn support many national organizations and associations as listed below.

Mammut

Mammut_LogoFox Mountain Guides and Climbing School has been partnered with Mammut since 2006, and currently Mammut sponsor all our ropes (18+ annually) and jackets for the guides.  We only use Mammut for our ropes, cordage and fleet of over 170 pairs of climbing shoes. We are currently using the Mammut ‘Revelation’ ropes for multipitch guiding and the ‘Galaxy’ for single pitch and course work. We have been using the Mammut ‘Edge’ climbing shoe for our fleet since 2008.

About Mammut:

The Mammut Sports Group AG includes the mountain sports equipment manufacturer Mammut, the shoe manufacturer Raichle and the ski wax and care experts, Toko. In addition to its central headquarters in Seon, Switzerland (since 1992), where around 200 people work, the Mammut group has branches and subsidiaries all over the world. An extensive network of agents handle global distribution.

Misty Mountain

Misty_Mountain_Threadworks_LogoFox Mountain Guides and Climbing School is pleased to be sponsored by Misty Mountain, another North Carolina based company.  Misty Mountain has been providing climbers with innovative made in the USA harnesses and slings for 25 years.  Their harnesses are designed by climbers for climbers, and the durability and comfort of their harnesses is exemplary.   Fox Mountain Guides and Misty Mountain have been partners since 2007.  For 2010 all Fox AMGA certified guides will wear Misty Mountain harnesses, and we have updated our fleet of over 100 harnesses to use only Misty Mountain for all our climbing programs and guiding across the southeast.  We have also been working with Misty Mountain to develop, refine and test equipment in our growing military training programs.

About Misty Mountain:

For 25 Years Misty Mountain has been providing climbers with comfortable, durable, functional climbing harnesses, slings and accessories. Their products are made in the United States, in a folksy yet state of the art textile facility in the North Carolina Mountains.  All designers and management are climbers, so Misty Mountain builds the gear that climbers want.  Manufacturing locally means that they provide employment for skilled workers in a shrinking manufacturing economy. Manufacturing locally also cuts down substantially on total freight costs in both dollars and carbon emissions, as their products are not sent via container from the other side of the planet. Misty Mountain further reduces carbon footprint by reusing corrugated boxes from local retailers and suppliers for all outgoing shipments. Product designs and manufacturing processes are optimized to minimize waste and promote recycling. Streamlining all of their processes to conserve energy use is an ongoing project at Misty Mountain.  Building durability and useful features into each climbing harness is a signature of Misty Mountain, a responsible, sustainable and valued local sponsor of Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School.

Recomendations

"How can I learn to climb? I asked all around Charlotte and I got the same answer from Jessie Browns, Inner Peaks and Great Outdoor Prov. Co. All three said to contact Fox Mountain Guides because they were the best out there. So with 3 Fox brochures in hand I called to schedule the Rock Climbing 101 Course. I then took the Single Pitch Lead Course and then the ‘Master Class’ in December from Adam himself. It's been the best money I've spent for climbing yet!"
