CLIMBING IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS!
It is impossible to eliminate all risks associated with climbing. Our goal is to minimize your risk, but ultimately you must assume full responsibility for your participation by signing an assumption of risk form.
Payment
We will charge your outstanding balance to the credit card you placed the original order on unless otherwise instructed. You may also pay the balance by sending a check to: Fox Mountain Guides, 3228 Asheville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC, 28768. Please include a note saying for who the payment is for, what type of guiding or course and dates of booking. Please make checks payable to "Fox Mountain Guides, LLC". There is a $30 service charge for all returned checks.
Availability
Courses and guiding is offered right through the year, yes we guide 12 months of the year as the weather can be 70° in January down here in the South! If you don't see a course date that fits your schedule, give us a call. Early booking is essential as some courses are fully booked up to 2 months in advance (especially guiding days May through September). Last minute bookings are sometimes available so please call or email the office to find out availability.
Cancellation Policy
We employ an industry standard cancellation policy. Please read the following carefully, email or call the office with any questions before booking. We advise you look at 'trip insurance' (information below) to possibly safeguard your trip if you have to cancel or reschedule your booking.
- To cancel or reschedule a Rock or Ice Guiding or Chimney Rock Two Hour Lesson reservation $50 is non-refundable. Full payment is due 7 days prior to the booking. No refunds are given after 7 days prior to the booked trip, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 7 days.
- To cancel or reschedule a Group Booking (7 or more) reservation $100 is non-refundable. No refunds are given after 14 days prior to the booked trip, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 14 days. You must confirm minimum numbers 14 days prior to the event, you will be charged for the minimum number you stated if less people show up on the day.
- To cancel or reschedule a Skills Course or AMGA Course/Assessment reservation $100 is non-refundable. Full payment is due 30 days prior to the program. No refunds are given after 30 days prior to the program start date, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 30 days.
- For our Summer Camp Programs, out of State Courses/Guiding, International Expeditions and Military Contracts 50% deposit is due on booking, $100 of which is non refundable. Full payment is due 90 days prior to start date. No refunds given for cancellations after 90 days prior to program start date, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 90 days.
No refund will be given to "no shows" and you will be charged/billed for a full day of climbing or course.
There is a full refund for weather-related cancellations. However you must discuss rescheduling with the guide/office. If you just leave a message and not show up you will be charged for the day.
Trip Insurance
We strongly suggest you look into 'trip insurance' as this may protect you from losing your money if you have to cancel your booking at the last minute. We have done research and have had good feedback from clients that have used AIG Travel Guard. We think it is a prudent way to protect your course and money if you have to cancel your booking. Fox Mountain Guides, LLC will not sell, rent or trade your personal information collected on this site except as outlined in this privacy policy. Names, phone numbers, e-mail, mailing addresses, and other personal information are collected only as part of explicit registration processes such as requesting additional information or registering for one of our events. This information allows us to contact you if we need additional information. We will not make your personal information available to anyone without your express consent unless Fox Mountain Guides, LLC has a good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (1) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of Fox Mountain Guides, LLC; or (3) enforce the agreements with you.
Transport
It is your responsibility for your own transportation to and from the Trail Head.
Camping and Food
Camping and food costs are not included in any of the multiple day courses we offer (apart from our Teen Summer Camps and New Hampshire Ice courses and Guiding).
Emergency Information
Please be aware that advanced medical care is normally over an hour away from the climbing and course sites, cell phones mostly do not work in the areas that the courses are run. All medical concerns, old injuries, and medications should be discussed with the Guide prior to the course or day of guiding.
