Senior Advanced Camps, Ages 13-18

Our Senior Advanced Camps for teen climbers with more trad outdoor experience under their belts. This camp focuses on higher-end climbing techniques, allowing climbers to push their boundaries and skill sets. Climbers will set personal goals and be given the opportunity to reach them with 1:1 guidance and coaching. This program is designed primarily for returning campers, but first time FMG climbers with more outdoor experience may enroll.

Our Senior Rock Climbing Summer Camp is designed for teens who have significant outdoor trad climbing experience. The typical camper has previously attended FMG’s Regular Rock Climbing Camp and returns to further develop their climbing skills, often attending back-to-back sessions of camp. Senior campers build on the foundation of skills they already have, refining their climbing technique and learning advanced technical systems all with the goal of preparing them to lead traditionally protected climbs under the watchful eye of our AMGA Certified Instructors.

As with our Regular Camp, Senior Campers are immersed in the climbing lifestyle, learning to be independent and self-reliant. They plan the meals, pick the climbs, and set the agenda for fun evening activities like ultimate frisbee, swimming in the river, and slacklining. It’s no surprise that this camp fills quickly as campers return year after year to experience another summer of climbing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

***NEW FOR 2017 – Senior campers will get the opportunity to climb Laurel Knob, the tallest rock face on the East Coast!***

Book Summer Camp

We will charge your outstanding balance to the credit card you placed the original order on unless otherwise instructed. You may also pay the balance by sending a check to: Fox Mountain Guides, 3228 Asheville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC, 28768. Please include a note saying who the payment is for, what type of guiding or course and dates of booking. Please make checks payable to “Fox Mountain Guides, LLC.” There is a $30 service charge for all returned checks.

Cancellation Policy

We employ an industry standard cancellation policy. Please read the following carefully, email or call the office with any questions before booking. We advise you look at ‘trip insurance’ (information below) to possibly safeguard your trip if you have to cancel or reschedule your booking.

  • For our Summer Camp Programs, 50% deposit is due on booking, $100 of which is non-refundable. Full payment is due 90 days prior to start date. No refunds given for cancellations after 90 days prior to program start date, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 90 days.

Trip Insurance

We strongly suggest you look into ‘trip insurance’ as this may protect you from losing your money if you have to cancel your summer camp at the last minute. We have done research and have had good feedback from clients that have used AIG Travel Guard. We think it is a prudent way to protect your course and money if you have to cancel your booking.

Transport

Our Summer Camps meet and finish at the Fox Mountain Guides Center in Pisgah Forest, Brevard. We can arrange to pick up and drop off your camper at Asheville Airport (AVL) at no additional charge.

Accommodation

All of our programs are based at our own property in Pisgah Forest, NC. Our programs stay in tent accommodation throughout the camp and our campsite has running water, bathrooms and hot showers. All camping equipment is included apart from sleeping bag and eating utensils (plate, bowl, mug, KFS).
