If the Nose of El Capitan is on your bucket list and you want to gain the skills necessary to climb it, Joel Fluty’s Aid Climbing Clinic is a great place to start! It covers leading and cleaning aid pitches and moving through traversing terrain and is taught right here in North Carolina.

  • Techniques for leading and cleaning aid pitches
  • Moving through traversing terrain with lower-outs

 

 

Prerequisites:

Participants should be leading at least 5.7 traditional climbs.

 

 

Details:

Number on course: Maximum of 4:1 client to instructor ratio

Cost*: $380
2: $500 per person (two to one instructor, two days)
1: $650 per person (one to one instructor, two days)

*The costs are based on the actual number of participants on the course. Courses normally run at 3+ people but in the event the courses run with fewer people the costs will be as shown above. Participants who do not wish to take the course with low numbers (because of the cost) can change their course to another date.

 

 

About the Instructor:

Joel Fluty is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide with extensive experience climbing grade VI big walls including the esteemed El Capitan. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with others as they progress on their big wall journey. Past participants have used the skills they learned from Joel to climb bigger objectives, including the Nose in a day!
