Why Choose Us?

Why Choose Fox Mountain Guides & Climbing School?

We have always exceeded industry standards for training and professionalism

At Fox Mountain Guides, we understand the risks associated with rock and ice climbing. So, we only hire professionally trained, certified, and experienced guides.

For 20 years we have consistently set the standard for training and safety within the industry. Our team is comprised of seasoned professionals who possess extensive knowledge of the terrain, weather conditions, and best practices for ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience.

When you choose Fox Mountain Guides, you can rest assured that you’re in the hands of the most qualified professionals. We uphold the highest standards of safety, prioritizing the well-being of our clients above all else.

ALL guides and instructors are AMGA certified for the terrain they guide

We are climbing professionals who pride ourselves on providing excellent service and the highest possible quality instruction. To that end, we ONLY employ guides who are certified by the AMGA. Additionally, our guides adhere to the AMGA’s Scope of Practice and only guide terrain in which they are certified.

There are no requirements to be certified to guide in the United States. Yet, we feel that it’s our responsibility as professionals to seek certification. While there are other organizations that certify guides, we only recognize AMGA training because it is the standard in the United States and abroad.

We love what we do

While we value training and certification, it is equally important to us that we employ guides who love what they do and want to share their passion for climbing.  At heart, our guides are adventurers. When not guiding, you’ll likely find them climbing both locally and all over the world honing their craft. They understand the significance of your climbing experience and will strive to provide you with an unforgettable day. Don’t take our word for it; read our reviews and see why our guests have rated us the number one outdoor activity in the Pisgah Forest on TripAdvisor.
