Why Choose Us?

Why Choose Fox Mountain Guides & Climbing School?

We have always exceeded industry standards for training and professionalism

Rock climbing is a great adventure, but it isn’t without risk. That is why you want to hire only professionally trained, certified, and experienced guides to lead you into the mountains. For nearly 20 years, Fox Mountain Guides has exceeded industry standards in training and safety.  There is no one more qualified than our company to ensure that you have a safe, fantastic trip.

ALL guides and instructors are AMGA certified for the terrain they guide

We are climbing professionals who pride ourselves on providing excellent service and the highest possible quality instruction. To that end, we employ ONLY guides and instructors who are certified by the AMGA, and our guides and instructors only guide in terrain for which they are certified. Unlike other companies in our region, we will not assign someone trained exclusively in single pitch terrain to guide you up a multi-pitch route; we do not allow Single Pitch Instructors to teach courses; and if you go ice climbing with us, your instructor will have had ice instructor training by the AMGA.

While other companies may hire guides with either no certification or a certification from another entity, we only recognize AMGA training because it the sole internationally recognized certification and is THE standard in guiding both in the United States and abroad.

We love what we do

While we value training and certification, it is equally important to us that we employ guides who truly love what they do and who want to share their passion for climbing with you.  At heart, our guides are adventurers. When not working with our guests, you’ll likely find them climbing both locally and all over the world honing their craft. They understand the significance of your climbing experience and will strive to provide you with an unforgettable day. Don’t take our word for it; read our reviews and see why our guests have rated us the number one outdoor activity in the Pisgah Forest on TripAdvisor.
